About: I got serious about photographing DIY shows on California's central coast in 2021. My band had just broken up and I was looking for a way to stay involved in my local scene. Over the intervening years, I've developed a style of concert photography influenced by renaissance art, photojournalism, and vernacular photography which seeks to mythologize the DIY space. We live in a world characterized by art's ephemeral nature. I hope that in 20 years, my work will stand the test of time and retain meaning, even if only for those who were there.
